GRAND FORKS -- Having exited the Big Sky Conference, the University of North Dakota football team has one season left as an independent before joining the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Although the Fighting Hawks are headed to the MVFC, UND is leaning on the Big Sky to fill out its future non-conference schedules.

On Tuesday, March 26, UND announced three home-and-home series with members of the Big Sky Conference.

"All of these games give us the opportunity to better understand what our schedule is going to look like over the next five-to-seven years," UND athletic director Bill Chaves said. "There is still more work to do, but we are moving closer toward our scheduling goals."

The Fighting Hawks will travel to Portland State on Oct. 24, 2020, and host the Vikings on Sept. 6, 2025.

UND will play at Idaho State on Sept. 4, 2021 and host the Bengals on Sept. 14, 2024.

The Hawks will play at Northern Arizona on Sept. 17, 2022, while the Lumberjacks will play at the Alerus Center on Sept. 9, 2023.

UND also officially announced an FBS game against Washington on Sept. 16, 2023.
